HEALING POWER

Yoga is far more than the shapes we create on the mat. When we shift our focus from the appearance of postures to their deeper function, we begin to experience yoga as a transformative practice—one that can shift our energy, reframe our perspective, and help us see ourselves and the world more clearly.

Healing, in the yogic sense, is the process of bringing consciousness to what was once unconscious. This inner alchemy can take place on any layer of our being—physical, energetic, or mental. While asana (posture) works primarily on the physical body, the true depth of yoga lies in the subtler practices that reach beyond the surface.

Tools like pranayama (breath control), kumbhaka (breath retention), and bandhas (energetic locks) allow us to move inward with precision and intention. These practices regulate our nervous system, clear energetic blockages, and bring coherence to the mind. Sound, especially in the form of mantra, plays a vital role in this process.

Historically, mantras were used as potent remedies for both physical and energetic ailments. In the Tantra Hatha Yoga tradition, we work with five primary mantras that carry profound healing potential: AUM, Rama, So Hum, Gayatri, and the deeply transformative Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra—a powerful invocation for protection, vitality, and rejuvenation.

This week at Bhav Yoga Studio, we celebrate the culmination of our current Yoga Teacher Training. As part of this final chapter, we will explore some of yoga’s most extraordinary healing practices, including the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra and traditional Rudra invocations. These are not only personal healing tools—they are also offered for the healing of others and the collective.

We warmly invite you to join us in this sacred space. Whether you’re an experienced practitioner or just beginning your journey, these sessions offer a rare opportunity to immerse in the energetic dimension of yoga and experience its power firsthand.

Let the ancient sounds guide you back to balance. We hope to see you there.
