Samkhya Philosophy – The Descent of Consciousness (Monday 19 Oct 11am)
This is the why behind what we do.
Samkhya gives us a map of how consciousness descends into manifestation, how we become who we are, how we experience the world, and, ultimately, how we can retrace that journey back to our true nature and the source from which we came.
It offers an insight into the nature of consciousness, the mind, the body and the layers of our experience, giving us a deeper understanding of both ourselves and the path of yoga.

The Ascent of Consciousness (Monday 19 Oct 3pm)
The descent is the why.
The ascent is the how.
If the descent maps how consciousness moves into manifestation and becomes who we are, the ascent is the roadmap we follow back to our true nature.
It is the path of practice, the journey inward through yoga, asana, pranayama meditation. Guiding us back towards the source of consciousness itself.

Moon • Sun • Fire (Tuesday 20 Oct 7.30am)
A deeper exploration of the science of Hatha Yoga through the Seven Stages of Hatha Yoga.
This is a journey through the progressive stages of practice — how each stage prepares the ground for the next, and how they work together as a complete system.
Rather than seeing yoga as a collection of individual practices, Moon, Sun and Fire gives us a framework for understanding the progression of Hatha Yoga.

Anatomy of Movement (Tuesday 20 Oct 11.15am)
Here we take a closer look at the physical body and the incredible mechanics that allow us to move.
We explore the major components of the muscular and skeletal systems, developing an understanding of the body’s structure and how it works together to create movement.
From bones and joints to muscles and their actions, we look at how and why the body moves, and how this understanding can inform our yoga practice.
A practical exploration of anatomy that gives us a deeper appreciation of the physical body — the vehicle through which we experience the practice.

The Forces That Bind Us (Tuesday 20 Oct 3pm)
It’s in the name, “Gu”na. The Gunas are the three fundamental forces of nature that make up Prakriti — Sattva, Rajas and Tamas.
They are constantly moving and interacting, shaping our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, perceptions and experiences. Their very nature is to bind consciousness to the world of Prakriti, drawing us into identification with the body, mind and ever-changing experiences of life.
Understanding the Gunas gives us a deeper insight into why we experience the world the way we do, and begins to reveal the path towards recognising that, beyond these forces, lies our true nature — the awareness that witnesses them.

Systems Physiology (Wednesday 21 Oct 7.30am)
The physical body is the vehicle that houses and supports the deeper dimensions of who we are. When that vehicle isn’t functioning well, it can become challenging to explore and experience the more subtle realms of our being.
In this lecture, we take a closer look at the inner workings of some of the body’s important physiological systems and how they work together to maintain balance, function and wellbeing. Understanding the physical body gives us a deeper appreciation of the relationship between the gross and subtle dimensions of our practice.

The Vayus (Wednesday 21 Oct 11.15am)
The Vayus are the most peripheral aspect of our energetic body, the easiest for us to access, influence and manipulate through the way we move our body and the way we breathe.
A quintessential aspect of the Pranic layer, understanding the Vayus is essential for yoga practitioners and particularly important for teachers. By learning how these five movements of Prana operate within the body, we gain a deeper understanding of how movement, breath and energy work together to influence our practice, experience of ourselves and the world.

Eight Limbs of Yoga (Wednesday 21 Oct 3pm)
An introduction to one of Yoga’s most established and widely supported pathways, given to us by the great sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutra. In this lecture, we explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga, what they represent, and how they work together as a progressive and integrated path.
More than simply a list of practices, the Eight Limbs provide a roadmap for the practitioner, a journey of refinement that moves from the physical and external dimensions of our experience toward the subtle, internal and ultimately transcendent.

Developing a Complete Practice – Asana (Thursday 22 Oct 7.30am)
The physical aspect of ourselves is the most dense, tangible and accessible layer of our being. It is also the aspect we can most easily identify with and influence. Developing a strong and conscious relationship with the physical body through Asana is therefore a major step in developing a complete Yoga practice, creating the foundation and stability needed to explore the deeper dimensions of our being and ultimately gain a greater understanding of ourselves.

Developing a Complete Practice – Pranayama (Thursday 22 Oct 11.15am)
The breath is one of the most powerful tools we have, both in practice and in life. It is essential to our survival and something we engage with every moment of every day, most often without conscious awareness. Through Pranayama, we begin to bring awareness and intention to the breath—how we breathe, where we breathe, and how we direct and use the breath. Developing this relationship with our breath can profoundly influence the quality of our practice, our state of mind and ultimately the quality of our life.

Developing a Complete Practice – Meditation (Thursday 22 Oct 3pm)
Meditation is one of the most subtle practices we can undertake, offering a pathway to deeper understanding of the mind and the nature of our own awareness. In this lecture, we explore Samyama, delving into the final three limbs of the Eight Limbs of Yoga and the progressive stages of meditation that lead toward deeper states of absorption. We’ll explore the seven stages of Samadhi and the final destination of the Yogic path, the recognition of our true nature.

Intro to Sanskrit (Friday 23 Oct 7.30am)
Step into the language at the heart of Yoga. Sanskrit is more than a language, it is a doorway into the deeper meaning, philosophy and wisdom of the Yogic tradition. In this lecture, we’ll explore the beauty and intelligence of Sanskrit, unpacking key words and concepts that are often lost in translation and discovering how the language itself can reveal new layers of understanding within our practice. This is an opportunity to move beyond simply knowing the names and begin to understand the deeper meaning behind the teachings we practise.

Teaching Skills (Friday 23 Oct 11.15am)
The ability to guide someone in how to move their body and how to breathe is one of the most intimate forms of communication. As teachers, our words, tone, presence and ability to observe all influence the experience of the student. This lecture explores the art of effective communication and the skills required to guide, support and connect with students in a meaningful way. Because teaching Yoga is about far more than simply knowing what to teach, it’s about knowing how to communicate it.

Gods & Goddesses - Part 1 (Friday 23 Oct 3pm)
A heart-opening session where myth meets mantra — a journey into the rich tapestry of ancient gods and goddesses, their stories, symbols, and timeless teachings. Through storytelling and shared wisdom, we’ll explore the deeper meanings behind these deities and how their archetypes live within us.
Each myth will be accompanied by the chanting of traditional mantra, allowing us to not only hear these sacred stories, but to embody their essence through sound and vibration. This practice invites us to connect more deeply with the divine within, awaken dormant qualities, and realign with higher aspects of ourselves.
Come sit in sacred space with us — to listen, to chant, and to remember.
